The Truth About Haute People Magazine

Doing anything that is deemed "new" or "different" in a country that might not be receptive to change takes a lot of courage!

Just a few years ago, I decided to launch a new business product which would be an extension of my Haute People Brand. This new thing, though not new in theory was something I've thought about for quite some time as I truly have a great love and appreciation of this thing. This was a magazine that would be launched digitally on a platform called Issuu which would be a condensed version of the Blog and would be distributed to the masses who didn't have time to scroll through each Blog post and it would be released 3 times per year.

The day of the shoot was quite predictable, everyone except for myself was late! There were people who backed out last minute (which was expected) and the people on location had conflicting views which caused disagreement and separation where I was left in the middle to pick up the pieces. If things could not get any worst, one of the Designers pulled his pieces from the shoot as he was late, didn't iron his pieces and didn't like how the images looked on camera. Fast-forward to the launch month and the pictures were not ready in time so I made the executive decision to release the magazine with mediocre images as opposed to not putting out anything at all. You see, there were brands who believed in me and invested their time and products for FREE and I didn't want to risk it all and not have a magazine to show to these brands.

The magazine received 15,000 views on the platform and over 100,000 impressions. This is quite a lot for a mediocre production as it seemed people were interested in what I had to say and the quality I would be putting out.

Running a magazine is not for the faint of heart -- there are many, many moving parts that the untrained eye might not see. All of you, the readers will see a finished product with content, ads, and images that look good. All these are a part of a grand concept that was carefully planned and curated based on a theme and also a team of dedicated individuals.

I say all that to say this, Haute People Magazine will be coming back this year and it will blow your minds! The team here at Haute People and I will be doing the work behind the scenes to ensure that everything is well in place so we are able to put out something we are proud of that you will love.

Thanks to everyone who came on board to make my dream possible in the last publications. It was truly and greatly appreciated.

We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who reads our posts, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure.
