#DAY 3 | A Look Inside My Work At-Home Space

Most if not all Bloggers and people who work from home have space they designate to working and creating high-quality content.

In my case, I converted as In-door verandah into my own creative niche space! This space has gone through many transitions and is still pretty basic as I rarely use it. I thought for this year I would share my space and how I was able to set it up and hopefully show at updated version throughout the year.

The Work Desk

I actually got this desk at one of my jobs when we changed the furniture. We were given the option to take what we could fit in our vehicles and I chose the desk! It is a larger desk that fits 2 people and 2 computers and just perfect for me. I use it to store newspapers that I've written in, my writing stuff, business cards and 2 D-I-Y vases I made to decorate the desk. It's great to do DIY and other larger planning projects.

Below the desk is where I store my craft box, tripods, banners and any form of backdrops and paper.

The Bookcase

This is my make-shift bookcase as I like to call it because it is actually an old component set that housed an Entertainment set my father bought in the late '90s! Back then they made furniture that lasted for decades so as soon as the set was out I took it over and made it my own. I organize by categories to make finding everything easier and it comes with a glass door! There is some method to the madness.

The Sofa

Before I give an explanation of this piece -- there is a theme in my office! I love to upcycle and DIY so all the pieces have been used and loved! This was an old living room 2 seater and when my father got new furniture we all took the old pieces and I chose this one. I simply bought upholstery fabric at the store and had it recovered -- it looks as good as new and it's very functional. I might get it re-upholstered and get a darker color as this gets dirty really easily.

The Magazine Table

This is another used piece that I sanded and painted in white by hand! A fresh coat of paint truly makes anything better as it gave it a clean, chic look that I think pulls the "look" together. I collect magazines and fashion books so this is where most of my local publications, latest ELLE, VOGUE + ALLURE Magazines Live! I think it's great on the eyes when you first walk into the room as they are all so colorful and a great conversation starter.

Do you have a space to call your own? What are some of the key pieces you have and how did you convert the space?

We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.
