#DAY 1 -- Haute Goals for 2019 Revealed

It is Day 1 of the Sway's 31 days of writing and I've decided to start with the first prompt on the list that has to do with goals.

To make things easier, I've decided to share the goals by categories and try my best to explain how I will accomplish them. Hopefully, by the end of 2019, I can look back and check off the things I've accomplished and prioritized the ones I didn't accomplish.

Blogging Goals

For 2019, I hope to give my Blog a complete make-over as it relates to design, logo, and name. Hopefully, by the time this post has been published, the Blog would have gotten a face-lift and it looks like an expensive lifestyle website that receives tons of views + sponsorships. I'm thinking about going back to Haute People as The Haute Lifestyle has been taken by so many other brands and people have been saying it's hard to find The Haute Lifestyle that's us. I also hope to re-start reviews + blog sponsorships as I stopped these for a while because they were overwhelming. Brands require so much from us Bloggers in a short space of time and it's hard to give honest feedback under all that pressure.

I hope that Haute will be featured in more local + international publications and I will be a part of a major campaign or project. Ultimately, it is my goal to grow Haute to the highest possible level and make it "scalable"

It is my goal is to save more than I did in 2018. Last year I had so many expenses which required sacrifices where I had to save. It was hard at first but after the 1st month it became much easier and it was nice seeing more "deposits" on my banking statements. I will accomplish this by creating a realistic budget, purchase more food to cook at home and attempt to eat out less. Hopefully, some of the sponsorships are food related.

Apart from Blogging, I have a unique side hustle where I've created a type of concierge service by combing all my skills from all my jobs. I do Social Media Management, Photography, Content Creation, Event Planning + Execution and if you need a hard to find the item I can source it and have it to you just like that! I hope to get more clients and in order to accomplish this, I will be shamelessly promoting myself no matter how silly I look. I have this fear of becoming popular then obsolete here in Jamaica which would suck so I've been low-key for the longest time. With all the gifts from God and skills I've picked up along the way, there is no need for me to live paycheck to paycheck... so in the words of Bob Marley "unno a guh tired fi see mi face"

I have so many goals for myself to list so I'll only think of the most important ones. In 2019, a major goal of mine is to be my best self-health wise, I started a weight gain journey in 2016 and it has been hard to maintain said weight! Imagine coming from 98lbs to 123lbs at 5'0.. for some, that's nothing but to me it's everything. This year I hope to maintain this weight with a strict eating + work-out plan. I would also like to travel to more places and see as much as I can and do whatever that city has to offer.

I also hope to change my car, purchase a home, get married + have twins. Anything is possible with God right? There are other super important things I want to accomplish but that's for another Blog Post.

Though I've listed all these goals, there's are some things I've kept private as it's never good to tell everything to everyone.

We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who reads our posts, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure.
