"Live Gud .. Give Tanx" is the mantra of the Reve Wellness Festival artfully put on by the Brother-Sister team of Duane and Teasea Bennett of Reve Jewellery and Accessories.
Last Sunday, The Haute Lifestyle took a Sunday Stroll across the Formal Gardens of the historical Devon House to peruse the happenings of the Fest.
As we made our way across the grounds while gazing in amazement at the colonial style mansion as the backdrop, the warm Sunday breeze somehow rose and pointed us in the direction of the gazebo where the first workshop was being held. By the screams of excited children heard from the distance, we quickly realized it was a workshop targeted towards children and parents with the title Signs of Mental Illness in Children/Teens. It was here we sat and listened attentively amidst the parents and children to Dr. Carole Mitchell & Dr. Avril Z. Daley, Clinical Psychologists of Contemporary Assessment & Counselling Services. Both ladies had an interesting and informative presentation on various Mental Illnesses in children and how to not only spot them but also treat them.

The thing we love the most about Reve Wellness Fest is the feel-good vibe and the strong sense of community -- people go there to connect with artisans, make new friends and support our local makers. It's also great that this year's theme was on Mental Wellness which is a taboo topic in Jamaica and we are glad light was shed on the issue and part proceeds from the admission cost will go towards Ward 21 at UWI Hospital.
We, unfortunately, missed the Fashion show as we had to leave the event early. You can visit Reve Wellness Festival on Facebook for highlights by clicking HERE.
