We've officially received our Media invites and know our schedule and is aware of all the themes -- the next step is to get our outfits in order!
This year I decided to reach out to Shades of Africa to help create an outfit for one of the events. I chose this Designer/brand as I think it's timeless and it's the perfect thing to wear on the heels of the "Wakanda Forever" movement. I'm interested in something fun, chic and outstanding and memorable to wear to the event dubbed as French Elan which exudes the French culture in all its grandeur -- I'm high-key obsessed with all things French (this Blog is French) and Je parle un peu français ( I speak a little French). Let's just say for this event .. I wanted to come out ..dripping as the cool kids say 🙂😆.
Getting measured for my fit by Romario at Shades of Africa
Yesterday (Friday) I went to get my measurements done and was asked to send in a few designs of what I would like which would be re-imagined and re-designed by the Shades of Africa team to keep it unique.
I will also be taking my Blazer Dress to the tailor I bought at Forever 21 for NYFW in February as it was a total flop (the blazer dress that is) Every now and again Forever 21 puts out a series of "misses"-epic failure clothing items and this was definitely one of them. First of all, it was waay too big for a small and had a weird flair that made me look like a "bean in a tulip", the buttons were pretty basic So I will have to purchase some cute one and get it sewn on. I've also decided to make a head-dress for one of the events quite similar to something from the Met Gala!
With measurements sent, buttons purchased and blazer about to be tailored I'm off to prepare for part 3.
Daily Verse
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:37-40
