Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance --THE RECAP

Mother's Day has come and gone but the one thing that remains in my mind from yesterday was Meghan and Harry: A Royal Romance that premiered last night on Lifetime! The Royal Wedding is but a short week away and Lifetime in true spirits got us mesmerized about the Cinderella story of a regular girl marrying a Prince --indeed a modern day fairytale.

The movie premiered at 7pm on Lifestyle where if you stayed out too late you would have probably missed it as it literally crept up! The movie opens with Prince Harry and being set up on a blind date by friends with then USA "Suits" actress Meghan Markle.

Meghan Markle is played by Parisa Fitz-Henley (41) who is of Jamaican decent -- she does deliver a convincing Meghan in both looks, mannerism and of course acting-- Murray Fraser (23) who played Harry left much to be desired as he was portrayed as lacklustre and not the fun "ginger-haired Harry" portrayed by the media. There were some parts that were good and some parts that dragged on and I actually switched to the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" by 9pm on Nickelodeon. It was great to see the whole wealthy vs. commoner dynamic being played out as well as issues of racism and classism. I was extremely fascinated by the dialogue between Meghan and the Queen when they went to get the "Wedding Permission Slip" and she shared that there was African ancestry within the Royal Family. Who would have thunk it?  We won't spoil the movie for those of you who did not tune in so we will leave the rest for you to decide.

We are kinda low key excited to see how the actual Royal Wedding will be played out on the 19th as well as Meghan's dress, make-up and whether or not they cry and all the exciting things in between.

Will you be watching the "Royal Wedding"?
