Taking it all Back | A Mini Rant of Realness

Running a successful Blog from anywhere in the world can be hard -- running a Blog in a country like Jamaica where people don't really grasp the concepts of Blog is downright near impossible!  Here in Jamaica, most people (other bloggers included) think that running a Blog is simply dressing up to take photos to showcase all the wonderful things you have but it's waaay more than that.

When I started this Blog I never wanted it to be one of "those" blogs where it's solely about material things -- I wanted it to be about telling the stories of people who have an interesting journey and have made a positive impact on society and that's what I have been doing. Most recently, since around 2016 I took things really, really seriously which got me being nominated and named a finalist in the South Florida Blogger Awards in 2017 and attending NYFW in February ( as a Blogger ) which has been my biggest dream from as long as I can remember. This support came solely from my international supporters and never from my fellow Jamaicans unless something was in it for them. Between all this also came those people who wanted to promote someone else on the Blog who is usually an Instagram model or self-entitled PR Agent or Business Owner and has made no significant contributions to society and I sadly obliged -- the opposite of what I didn't want to do. Flashback to last week where something significant happened that I decided to stop Blogging because it completely took a toll on me. The worst thing about being a Blogger and in the Entertainment and Fashion Industry is that people will use your creative talent for (free) for their own personal gain and not even blink! Instead of quitting, I've decided to take it all back and tell the stories of interesting people and only focus on positive things. There will be no Carnival or any hedonistic events or photos that demean men and women -- no more fluff! We will no longer promote events we do not attend or support just because it's popular. Going forward all projects we take on free or paid will be done in writing ( a contract ) with clear guidelines and expectations. Also, photos of events will be sold to patrons who want to use them for Social Media or otherwise. If you want us to cover an event or a sponsored blog post, it will be booked in advance and not on the same day.

We will also tap into more streams of distribution as we know everyone receives information differently and we want to ensure we are available as many places as possible.

If you believe you have an interesting story to share and you are making a positive impact on Society and the world in your own little way --this is the place to be. We will help you grow and get your message across in whatever way we can.

Hello There 😃😃
We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who reads our posts, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure.

For as little as $1, you can support The Haute Lifestyle
