Sanya Richards-Ross's Chasing Grace and Run with me Book Launch

" After each failure in life, I learned that only faith and God's grace will carry you across the finish line"- Sanya Richards-Ross, Four time Gold Olympic Champion, World-Class Athlete, Loving Wife, Soon-To-Be Mom and Author.

Saturday last, scores of Jamaicans made their way to the Worthington at the Spanish Court Hotel amidst the afternoon showers to celebrate the launch of Chasing Grace & Run with Me which are her latest books. For Sanya, nothing is impossible as she has defied the odds on the track and in life and has launched 2 books simultaneously all while making a baby somewhere in the process.

According to Sanya at the launch "I initially wanted to write a book for teen girls, but after I retired it kinda felt more appropriate to write a memoir and so in writing this book I was very, very prayerful about it and about the message. I find it easy to be honest and transparent, which is what I shared in the book".

Sanya recounts her earlier days on the track with one memory that stood out where she was between 16 or 17 year old and was booed on the track (in Jamaica) at the Penn. Relays for representing team U.S.A. Among the memories were the necessary thank you's to her dedicated Vaz Preparatory team, notably former Ms. June Simpson and principal "Ms. Beverly Ulett". The new author also made presentations to her Alma Mater, Immaculate Conception High School where she graciously gifted them goodies to the Track team. Sanya confirmed that she chose Jamaica as one of her stops on her tour as she hoped that more young people would read because she believes reading and education go hand in hand and they are fundamental for anything one wants to be in life.

In attendance was Marva Bernard OD, retired President of the Jamaica Netball Association,  Dr. the Hon. Mike Fennell OJ CD, Hon. Olivia Babsy Grange, MP CD, Minister of Culture and Gender, Entertainment and Sport.

The event ended with Cocktails provided by Lasco iCool and The Best Dressed Chicken and a Book Signing with Sanya Richards-Ross herself as presented by Kingston Bookshop. The Haute Lifestyle was of course on location to capture the event, thanks to our talented photographer, Dale Stephenson.
