What is Eyebrow Microblading? Everything you need to know

"To me, beauty and makeup and color is like the finishing touch on everything." - Marc Jacobs

Make up trends are one of those things that changes as seasons and years go by. In recent years, one of the trendiest thing was to have fleeky brows. While I enjoy Blogging and trying new make-up I don't wear it enough and I'm not that good at it. Just when I found a way to get my brows snatched and fleeky, in comes a new trend. Today, I will be telling you everything you need to know about the Microblading eyebrow trend.

What is Microblading?
"microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool instead of a machine," according to Piret Aava, The Eyebrow Doctor. I know you heard the word pigment and is probably thinking tattoo and you are kinda right. Unlike the tattoo, it does not go as deep into the skin; the brow specialist draw hair-like strokes with a special tool to mimic the brows.

The Procedure

There are certain Lifestyle precautions to take before getting your brows microbladed. If you drink alcohol excessively, be sure to drink a lot of water and if you use any topical creams like Retinol stop one week before getting it done as Retinol makes the skin thin and it could cause damage.

Now to address the elephant in the room ...it does hurt but pain is relative! We all have varying pain thresholds and while some might get it and only feel a pinch, others may feel it quite intensely. Be prepared to schedule some time out of your day for this as it takes anywhere between 1-2 hours. It is highly recommended that you get this done by a trained certified individual as it is semi-invasive and it is within the eye region. Let's not skip the professional for the cheaper version and end up with jacked up brows or end up blind.

How Long Does it Last?

It can last up to 6 months depending on your skin and lifestyle. The better you care for your skin the longer it will last. Aftercare is essential to keep the brows looking fleeky! It is recommended to stay away from moisture which means no intense workouts- and you might have to opt for wipes rather than water to wash your face for a few months. There are some people who have experienced redness and itchiness around that area and to alleviate that you will need your trusty Vaseline.

Is it expensive?

Yes! It is a bit of an investment and can run you up to $900 or over $90,000 Jamaican Dollars ( Rent Money + Groceries for a month ) If you are looking to ditch brow  pencils , gels and every other technique then it will be worth it for you.
