Dramatic Make-over ft Maybelline 24k Nudes Palette

Hi Guys! It's been a while since we last spoke and there has been a lot of changes. Flashback to last Saturday when I thought it would be cool to cut my hair "pixie" short. With this new look I wanted to try something different with my make-up as well and thanks to the kind folks at Influenster and Maybelline for sending me the 24k Nudes. Keep reading to see my dramatic look and my 1st impression/review of the product.

I love a simple no fuss look and that is exactly what I went for! I used the dark brown from the 24k Nudes palette on my lids to add a daytime smoky effect that is still very subtle. Next, I lined my eyes with the Maybelline New York lasting drama waterproof gel pencil in polished amethyst which is a beautiful purple that brings out the brown flecks in my eyes, then to have a more glowy "awake look" I added the beautiful gold colour on the inner corners of my eyes. Side bar: this gold is the one that "sells" the palette and was the one used in many of the adverts and commercials. My lashes were complemented by the Maybelline Falsies push up angel mascara. The shape of the wand is a bit different from what I’m used to and while it did not work well on its own, it’s great if you already have mascara on and want to add that ‘falsie” look.

To finish off the look I added a lip-gloss as I had a long day and had no time for lipstick.

I have all the Maybelline Nude Palettes and they are pretty much similar in that the colours are either darkened or lightened. I was hoping for higher pigmentation and more gilttery gold hues. There was only 1 Gold colour and it was beautiful. The other colours are a bit chalky in texture, however, the colours pay-off is pretty decent as is the longevity in wear. I notice the applicator  was smaller than in other palettes and they were not named on the palette. I really hope they would name the shades this time around so we can refer to them by name.

I received this product complimentary for the purpose of review from influenster.
