Behind the Seams : Nordia Rose

Today we have a special series of "Behind the Seams" as we will be interviewing the honorees of Queens of Reggae island Honorary Ceremonies  QORIHC ) 2016 which will be held this Sunday at Courtleigh Auditorium at 7.P.M. QORIHC  is an Award Show that under the distinguished patronage of the mayor of Kingston - Dr Angella Brown Burke, will honor eight females in the Arts and Entertainment fraternity of Jamaican culture receive well deserved recognition for their years of service and dedication. Today , Haute People goes "Behind the Seams" with highly sought after Female Video  Director Nordia Rose.

H.P: You are one of Jamaica's most sought after Video Directors ... how do you stay Creative?
N.R: I stay creative by researching and exploring new ideas, staying on top of the latest Video Equipment and Technology. I also broaden my mind by reading and talking to diverse people all over the world.

H.P: What motivates you on a daily basis?
N.R: Waking up and knowing that God has blessed me with another day has always motivated me. When I'm on the road and people would just call me by my name; sometimes i'm on a Video Set and people would be there saying how long they wanted to meet me and how much they love my videos. They would always look to see if its a "Nordia Rose" Video, I'm impressed by how much people pay attention to who direct a Music Video. An Artiste once asked me "are you that nice or are you just pretending". Just to show you It pays to be a nice person.

H.P: Nikon or Cannon?
N.R: Nikon

H.P: What Video are you most known for?
N.R: I'm known for directing Music Videos for Vybz Kartel because I have have directed videos for most of his hit songs. I have directed 95% of his Videos, people would say that Kartel only worked with Nordia Rose. I have done Music Videos for a lot of other artists such as Shaggy, Beenie Man, I Wayne, Barrington Levy, Elephant Man, Chaka Demus and Pliers ect.

H.P: How does it feel being an Honoree at QORIHC 2016?
N.R: I'm honored, I'm elated, I'm so touched by the fact that QORIHC has recognized my talent and not only as a director but as someone who has contributed to the entertainment industry, While I'm still alive and well and can feel appreciated.
