This Vs That: CoverGirl Vs Maybelline Palettes

Hi Guys!

As you can tell from the title above, it's the battle of the palettes! Today we will be reviewing the CoverGirl Trunaked Goldens and Maybelline the blushed Nudes Palette.

I've been using both for awhile so I can give an honest and realistic review

Maybelline the blushed Nudes Palette

This retails for $9.99 from Ulta Beauty. The palette features 12 colors that are great for everyone and can be used to create daytime and night time looks. There are a few things I like about this palette which is you can create 13 different looks ( it comes with directions on how to do so on the back ), it's pigmented and I like the packaging , y'all know I'm a sucker for pretty packaging. I believe that Make-Up should be packaged beautifully so that we the buyers are drawn to it. Another thing I really like about this palette are the mix of shades , some are shimmery and some are matte ... If you are more into matte you have that option and if you are a shimmery girl , you also have that option. I bought this palette because of the softer colors that compliment my skin tone and as you can see from the palette , I went in on the gold shade to the far left.

  • Palette was hard to open: The material used to make this palette is a hard plastic and you need something to pry it open. If you have long nails or no nails , it will be tricky to open.
  • Shades have no name: None of the shades have names. I like when make-up products have cute names that you can refer to. They all come in "duos", "trios" and "quads" but no actual name.
  • Wears off Easily: This is definitely not a long wear palette especially if you have oily eyelids or live in the tropics. You might want to go heavy on the eye primer for this one.

CoverGirl Trunaked Goldens

CoverGirl released a few palettes some time ago and this particular one came in my Influenster Box as a surprise item. I'm glad I got this one as I'm more of a golden neutral daytime kinda girl and it fits perfectly. This palette retails for $11.99 and features 8 colors. This palette is all about shimmer , so If you are not into shimmer this is definitely not for you. I liked the packaging , it's not as pretty as the Maybelline Palette but it was pretty , simple and sleek. It is also highly pigmented and that brown to the far left makes a great daytime or nighttime smoky eye when paired with the gold color .... verrry pretty I tell ya'.

  • Heavy Fallout: A little goes a long way with this palette and you can definitely expect a fallout like no other! It gets everywhere!
  • Pricey for Drugstore Make-up: $11.99 is a bit pricey for a 8 color small palette
  • Creases: While the colors are beautiful , it creases like a piece of paper under pressure.

Sooo , drumroll .....The Palette is prefer is ... The Blused Nudes by Maybelline. It's cheaper , there are more colors and it suits me more.

Let me know if you've tried any of these and which you like best
