Stylish Mom Outfit Ideas

Once we become mothers, we’re expected to leave the life we once lead behind and focus all our energy and attention to being the best parents we can be. It’s true that everything changes once the baby is born and that some things are suddenly off-limits. However, becoming a mother doesn’t mean you have to stop doing all the things women enjoy doing such as putting on makeup, shopping for stylish clothing, and traveling. It also doesn’t mean that you should leave behind your old style and start dressing in a completely different way. Sure, a pair of stilettos you used to wear before may not be that practical now that you’re running around with your toddler, but no one said you should ditch fashion magazines altogether and adopt pajamas as your daywear. You can still look chic without letting motherhood define who you are. Read on to learn how you can balance your sense of style with the new-found role of a mommy.

Take cues from mom fashion blogs

The glamorous outfits, the exciting destinations, and astonishing photographs – mom fashion blogs can be real goldmines when it comes to fashion inspiration! It seems as if mom bloggers are multiplying by the minute, tackling all the different subjects moms are curious about – from comfy and chic shoes you can wear when chasing your kids and tips on how to rock the latest trend to their morning and evening beauty routines. Mom bloggers often post their daily looks so you can draw some inspiration from them and learn how to combine on-trend colors and patterns and look polished and put-together – even when you’re simply running errands.

Combine basic with statement pieces

When it comes to your wardrobe, it’s best to fill it with basic, simple pieces and then add a couple of statement pieces that will make the whole outfit pop. White T-shirts, black and blue jeans, comfy sneakers and leggings are some good basic pieces. As for the statement pieces, printed tops will add spark to your #ootd, but the things that are really going to capture the attention are dresses. A beautiful Realisation Par dress that can be worn for many occasions is a piece worth investing in. When paired with classic, timeless jewelry and neutral shoes, it can easily become your go-to outfit – whether you’re running errands, going for a brunch, or just taking your newborn for a short walk in his pram.

Do clothes make the mom?

Once you become a mom, you’re expected to fit into the mom style stereotype and only wear the most comfortable, convenient clothes you can find. You know, endless pairs of yoga pants that you can combine with virtually anything, extra-large tees that allow you to go braless for the day, and the coziest shoes you can get your hands on – that type of things. However, it doesn’t have to be that way, and just because you’re a mom doesn’t mean you should only look for comfort when shopping for clothes. You can still continue to be you, and remain true to your old, pre-baby style.

The Parisian outfit is simple but fashionable

When it comes to fashionable outfits for moms, they don’t need to be complex. Sometimes, even the simplest pieces can go a long way in creating a chic, effortless look while being totally comfortable and wearable at the same time. Take a look at Parisian mamas– they can take the most basic pieces and make them look stylish and glamorous, yet classic and timeless. For example, a lightweight sweater in a neutral color can look incredibly chic when paired with flare jeans and low block heel, while an oversized button-down combined with an oversized blazer and a pair of high-waisted jeans and black mules will give you that je ne sais quoi appeal.

We all deserve to be beautiful, and even on those days when we don’t feel like dressing up – we should do it for ourselves. And even though the clothes don’t make the man, or in this case, the woman, putting some thought into an outfit and accessories can really make a mom feel pretty and confident, and consequently, happier.
