Product Review | CoverGirl truBlend Matte Made Liquid Foundation | #Blogmas Day 11 | #covergirlmade

Today, I will be reviewing the CoverGirl trublend Matte Made Liquid Foundation in the shade Warm Tawny (D15) which was recently launched here in Jamaica!

About the Foundation

From your favorite COVERGIRL foundation line comes a matte formula that isn't drying or cakey. TruBlend Matte Made's formula is developed with flexi-hold technology that creates a strong, yet flexible film on the skin for durability and comfort, while the mattifying powders absorb oil and minimize pores for a soft matte, flawless finish. Up to 12 hours of wear.
  • 12 HR COMFORT MATTE
  • PORE MINIMIZING
  • OIL CONTROL
  • TRANSFER RESISTANT
  • ALL IN 40 SHADES

The first thing that caught my eye was the packaging! If you've been an avid reader of the Blog you would know I'm a sucker for packaging. It features a black cap and transparent bottle with white writing, it looks more expensive than it actually is.

It is recommended to use with a primer to keep the makeup in place and for it to last throughout the day. I used the TruBlend Base Business Pore Minimizing Primer which comes out as a light purple with subtle shimmer and a light scent. I allowed this to really set for 5 minutes before moving on to the Foundation.

Another plus with the foundation is that it comes with a pump so none of the product is wasted. I also noticed that it is a bit thick in texture and offer a light scent, nothing too over the top!
As it relates to the application, it was a bit tricky -- I used my trusted Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and could see the actual strokes then I switched to my beauty blender which was a little better. If you are a novice at makeup like myself, I would recommend using a makeup sponge of some sort as it makes it look seamless. The coverage is medium and buildable but you might need a few more pumps for a "Full Beat Glam Look". Be sure to set with powder and a setting spray for that 12hr wear.  The foundation takes a time to fully dry down for you to see the actual color! After it dried down it was showing up as a bit yellow which can easily be corrected by contouring.

I liked the overall finish of the foundation as it was smooth, velvety and matte! If you have oily or combination skin, I highly recommend this foundation.
