How to NOT look Hoochie at your Holiday Office Party | #Blogmas Day 3

Monday, December 3, 2018

I know, I know, that title was a bit BOLD and in your face but I wanted to ensure I got your attention! We are on the 3rd day in December which means Christmas is only 23 days away! With the being said, office parties are just around the corner and for those of you who like to let your hair down around your co-workers but have no idea what to wear, this blog post is just for you.

Keep reading to find out how to NOT look hoochie at your office party.

Length Check

Instead of a short well-above the knee dress or skirt opt for midi length! Midi length is just as sexy as shorter dresses and skirts and they are work appropriate. Even though it is not a typical work setting you are still at work even if the event is held somewhere else. Remember you have to go back to work the next day and for the remainder of the year and you want to keep things professional and not give people the wrong idea.

Drink Responsibly

I know Holiday Office parties might seem like the perfect place to drink as much as you can because you probably take a lot of ish throughout the year, but again, you are at work! Please pace yourself and drink responsibly, if you know you get drunk easily be sure to only have one glass and complement that with water. The last thing you want is to get drunk and make a complete fool of yourself then wake up with "greasy Jim" from the 5th floor.

Keep the Make-Up Simple

One sure way to NOT look like a Hoochie at your Holiday Office party is to keep the makeup simple! Since it's considered the winter season, most makeup looks are muted and feature more earthy tones like browns, soft pinks and berry colors. If you are not that into make-up and still like to do a little sumn sumn, a red lip is always classic and timeless.

Mix and Mingle

While this has nothing to do with make-up or clothing, office parties are great for networking and talking to people who are too busy to engage in conversations. Keep the conversations simple, relevant and professional and really try to meet new people and keep the conversations going even after the party. Do not be that girl who stands in the corner or by the food table giving everyone the eye and being mean. Nobody likes that girl!

Sequence is OK

Ladies! I know we love our sequence during the holiday season and yes they are appropriate for the holiday office party! I would personally stay away from items that cling too much to the skin or are see-through (leave those for new year) and you can shake things up by opting for the colored sequence as opposed to the usual black.  Popular colors this season are gold + silver, multi-colors, and jewel tones.

We hope that we were able to help you look your best at your holiday office parties. Be sure to share your looks with us on Instagram.

We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast.
