The bar has been set high for this year's Collection MoDA Runway + MoDA Market!

The event is known for their staple events, MoDA Runway and MoDA Market has expanded to include a series of events now including MoDA Music. To celebrate this year's staging, the Moda team collaborated with the CPJ Market to present their official Launch for an Epicurean event dubbed as "Dine".

Dine saw 30 of Jamaica's Creative "Disruptors" in an intimate setting inside CPJ Market seated around a beautifully decorated table complete with candelabras, beautiful flowers, and plants which were reminiscent of a garden party (but indoor).

The evening featured a 4-course meal expertly prepared by Executive Chef Akeli Dixon and his amazing team. Each course was paired with various wines and spirits from CPJ Market and included Bacardi, Grey Goose, and Dewars.

First, was the Soup Du Jour - Roasted Tomato Cream Soup with Potato Gnocchi. The Tomatoes were slow roasted and pureed with a hint of cream then incorporated with homemade potato gnocchi. It can simply be described as tasty, comforting and quite satisfying and teased the taste buds for what was to come.

Appetizers were next which featured the Oxtail and Tarragon Ravioli with Dewars Marinara. The Oxtail was braised and deboned and filled in a ravioli skin laced with Dewar's Marinara. I actually am not much of a meat eater but the presentation was quite lovely and according to the other guests it could be described as perfectly, seasoned and well-balanced

For Entrees, it was a Pork Tenderloin -- The Pork Tenderloin was marinated with Grey Goose and Fennel then drizzled with Josh Legacy Jus. For the Vegetarians, it was the Pan Seared Sweet Potato Cake with Ackee Regoo with a red peas cream. I opted for the latter and it had a hint of cinnamon, flavored with coconut milk and featured the perfect crisp. The ackee was perfectly seasoned and was a perfect change from the basic ackee we are used to.

It was here songbird Sevana broke into song and joined the talented Violinist and encouraged the guests to sing along and applauded her after a stellar performance --talk about Dinner and a Show!

Next was the Bombay and Chive scented Salmon with Scotch Bonnet Beurre Blanc. The Fillet of Atlantic Salmon was splashed with Bombay Sapphire Gen then finished with a Josh Chardonnay Kissed Scotch Bonnet Beurre Blanc. This was my absolute favorite! Salmon is an acquired taste that relies heavily on the way it is prepared and this was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It had the right amount of flavor just the way I like it.

We ended the night with dessert which was the Bacardi 8 Glazed Orange Cranberry Bread Pudding. A memorable bread pudding topped with cranberry compote then laced with the 8-year-old spirit of Bacardi. Let's just say this was the "strawberry" on top of a perfectly great evening. Though we were all full, we immediately made room for dessert which was well worth it.

Dine was a fantastic evening with great conversation, great food, and even better wine!

This is just a tip of the iceberg for what is to come at this year's Moda Runway and Moda Market and we are excited!
