Holiday Gift Guide: Ideas for the Man in Your Life

Thursday, November 29, 2018

Gift shopping can be a strangely stressful activity. It all usually goes fine if you don’t overthink everything and just go with your gut, but when it comes to finding a present for that one important guy, it’s not that easy to stay cool-headed. You want to get it just right, and making him happy is important to you. So, how to find that winning present that will bring a smile to his face and make him feel cherished? Well, we’ve got a few cool ideas. If you’re in need of inspiration, read on!

Food!

The way to anyone’s heart is through their stomach, and it’s really hard to go wrong with good food. Whether it’s a dinner at that Italian restaurant around the corner that makes delicious pasta, some home-baked muffins, or a basket of Belgian chocolates, it’s the kind of gift that anyone can delight in. Alternatively, you can also get him booze. For example, a bottle of really good scotch or a crate of craft beers is a great way to make him happy.

Long, sleek coat

If your aim is to make your guy feel handsome, skip the woolen socks and scratchy sweaters and get him an elegant coat. A long, black, classic garment that’s well-fitted to his build will make him feel like a million bucks, and it’s kind of fun to observe a guy’s expression as he notices his own appearance in the mirror and realizes that he looks really damn good. If you’re worried about getting the right size, tape measure a few of his other jackets, note the size on them and ask the salespeople to help you find the right coat. As long as you make sure that the store offers returns and exchanges for a different size, you should be just fine.

Luxuriously soft bed sheets

This present comes in multiple parts, and you’re gonna want to pay attention because we think you’ll like it. The first thing to do is find a set of gorgeous designer bedding that feels smooth to the touch and wrap it in a neat little bow. The next part? Get lingerie. Get delicate, lacy lingerie that hugs your curves and makes you feel sultry, and then write a note that you can attach to the present. Let your guy know that you want to help him “try out” the new sheets and that you got yourself something sexy to wear just for that occasion. There’s no chance in hell he won’t love every last part of this gift.

Handy gadgets

If he’s a techie who loves trying out new things, you have multiple options at your disposal. For example, a FitBit kind of bracelet is great for people who are serious about their workouts, but you can also get him really good headphones, Bluetooth speakers, or even a VR set. All of these are aimed at him just having a ton of fun, and he’s bound to appreciate it.

Board game

Board games have come a really long way since Monopoly, and there are so many new and interesting things on the market that you can easily find something fun. This gift is good for family men and geeky guys, and it can give yet another opportunity to bond. Games like Codenames, Dixit, Telestrations, Ticket to Ride, and Splendor are easy for anyone to pick up, and you can enjoy them together with friends. If you want to get to know his buddies a little better, something like this can help you organize a fun evening filled with snacks, games, and laughter.

Weekend getaway

If you can afford it, why not book a little getaway for you two? It doesn’t even need to be something fancy—going to the countryside so you can enjoy fresh air and get away from work and chores for a few days is a great way to help your man unwind and feel better.

Video game

Here’s one suggestion we wanted to include in case you’re in a long-distance relationship. A digital copy of a video game is a great choice if you can’t be with your darling over the holidays, and if you like, you can get two copies of a co-op game and play together. Overcooked is a great, hilarious option, but for more ideas you can look here.

There’s no need to worry too much—as long as you listen to your instincts and gift him something that comes from the heart, he’ll like it. Pick one of our suggestions and enjoy the holidays!
