7 Travel Tips to Make Your Beach Vacation A Perfect One

Monday, November 19, 2018

If a holiday at the beach is a perfect vacation idea for you, there are probably a few things that you have to plan in advance. A beach vacation typically has a longer checklist as compared to a regular holiday trip.

There are more things to carry and more planning to be done, considering the facts that there are some ideal months of the year and ideal destinations to choose for such a trip. From the essentials like sunscreen and beachwear to contingent stuff like an umbrella, you need to pack more things than you can imagine. And the list gets even longer if you are traveling with children. Let us help you with some travel tips to make your beach vacation a perfect one.

1. Start with some basic research
With a beach trip, some research is a must before you have a holiday plan ready. Choosing the right destination is the most important thing. There are several factors that need to be considered in this context. For instance, you may want to vacation at a lively beach if you are holidaying with friends but a quieter, less crowded beach would be a better option for a family holiday. Also, find out the best time to visit the destination and look for some seasonal deals.

2. Have bookings in advance
Ideally, you should make bookings well in advance to have an enjoyable trip. Since beach destinations are full in season, timely bookings for the flight and resort is advisable to avoid any last-minute hassles. Check out the adventure activities available on the destination and see whether there are advanced bookings needed for them as well. Browse through the travel websites to get more information and make bookings for the trip.

3.  Have a packing checklist
Though a packing checklist is needed for all kinds of trips, it is all the more important for beach vacations. Count the number of days and carry outfits accordingly. Have a few swimsuits in and carry light and comfortable clothing that you can wear to the beach. Pack a pair or two of flip flops and some extra towels too. Other essentials include sunscreen lotions, sun hats and a pair of sunglasses. And don’t forget your camera as you would want to capture some special memories.

4. Pack a first-aid kit as well
Besides the right clothing, footwear, and accessories, a first-aid kit is something that you must carry while going on a beachside vacation. Carry insect repellants in bulk as you would need them on and off the beach. An antiseptic, bandage and sunburn ointment are also must-haves. Check out with your doctor and stock some anti-allergic medicines as it is common to have stings and bites on beaches. Being prepared beforehand is, therefore, a good idea.

5. Be prepared for emergencies
Beach vacations are always fun but accidents and emergencies can happen anywhere. Being vigilant and prepared can go a long way in preventing them. Ensure that there is a lifeguard at the resort and keep an eye on the children if you are traveling with the family. Be aware of dangerous fish and underwater animals that may be poisonous. Do not wade too deep into the sea if you cannot swim well.

6. Have a mobile charger handy
Being connected all the time is essential, even when you are on a vacation but a mobile charger is the most easy-to-forget item. Make sure that you carry your mobile phone every time you step out of the hotel room. Have the battery charged all the time so that it never runs out when you are outdoors. Better still, you can carry a mobile power bank that you can use to charge the phone even while on the beach.

7. Eat well and keep yourself well-hydrated
Since the weather in these destinations is usually warm and wet, stomach bugs and infections are quite common for vacationers. This is the reason that you should pay extra attention to the foods you consume. Always eat freshly prepared food from hygienic places. Carry dry snacks and biscuits from home, particularly if you are holidaying with children. Besides eating well, staying hydrated is the key as it keeps you healthy and prevents sunstrokes.

Planning a trip well is a good way to make it an enjoyable one, whether you are traveling solo, with friends or family. These simple tips for a beach vacation can be useful for keeping you healthy and happy all through the holiday and also ensure that you have a great time there. So the next time you plan a trip to one of your favorite seaside resorts, just check them out!
