Naomi Cowan's PARADISE PLUM gets Visual

Wednesday, October 24, 2018

The wait is over! Naomi Cowan on Saturday dropped the visual for her popular single "Paradise Plum" on YouTube.

You, you never put up a fight (no)
PARADISE PLUM
You just know me like we knew we never had to say a word

WORDS IN MOTION

The song tells the story of a young couple in a relationship who are at the"sweet" stage where they see each other regularly and speak on the cellular. They rely on each other and bring out the best in each other because they have an unspoken bond. It all started with a sweetie called "Paradise Plum" that was popular in the 80s and 90s. Back in those days (and today) men would drive for miles looking for the perfect fruit or sweetie once they were "checking " for a woman they really liked.

In the opening scene of the funky, colorful, eclectic video, the songstress is seen on a glammed bicycle in sky-high heels. As she rides through the streets of Kingston with music playing and speakers attached, she passes a few well-dressed girl bosses and men who all seem to know her and are all shining in their careers respectively. Here we get a strong vibe of community and how each person influences the love story.

We get a glimpse of "bae" in the early scene who was on his cell phone and had to look twice as she rode by. The video ends with Naomi meeting up with more friends at a party where she changes clothes and has fun for the rest of the night, then rides back home.

The Paradise Plum visual has a feel-good vibe and takes us back to the Reggae- Ska, Rub a dub era when life was much simpler and people focused on having fun and finding someone they loved.

We have a small favor to ask. People are reading the Haute Lifestyle than ever since our recent placement in the South Florida Blogger Awards but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. We do not have investors and everything Blog related is funded out of pocket– we want to keep our journalism as fun and open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. Our article takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective and voices matter – because it might well be your perspective, too.

If everyone who reads our posts, who likes it, helps fund it, our future would be much more secure.
