Changing Your Fitness Routine: The Best Sports Activities for Your Fall Workout

You might think that you don’t have to work on your figure anymore because summer came to an end? Well, think again! Now is the perfect time to continue your weekly workouts and both stay active during the fall/winter season, and get those muscles in even better shape for next year. Now, perhaps you worked out a lot during the summer, which is a good thing, but honestly quite an easy one. The temperatures allowed us to exercise wherever we want – either in the park, street workout or jogging next to the river. But what to do when the temperatures drop a bit and we fall into that post-summer depression when every day seems colder and colder? This is how you change your fitness routine for the upcoming season, and worry not, fall has some perks that other seasons don’t! Take a look at some of the activities you might embark in:

1. Ice Hockey


Fall is all about welcoming winter, and winter is all about snow and ice, right? So, if you want to have a magnificent winter, filled with some ice, now it’s time to consider taking ice hockey and incorporating it into your weekly workout schedule. This is a great sport that includes a lot of running and cardio, and will definitely do wonders for all the muscles in your body. Moreover, it’s very fun and totally different than other sports so you might want to try it out this season. However, in order to fully prepare for your ice hockey sessions, you might want to go ice skating a bit a couple of weeks before immersing into this sport just to make sure you’re comfortable on the ice.

2. Indoor swimming


You spent all of your summer swimming, why would you do so in the fall as well? And the second question – how are you supposed to swim in low temperatures? Well, swimming is always a great exercise, and a fun one, so the fact that’s not summer anymore shouldn’t get in the way of your decision to put the best one piece swimwear that you own and hit the swimming pool a couple of times a week before you go to work. And secondly, there is a plethora of indoor pools that you can use. Swimming is not only good for your figure but your health as well, as it will keep your keep your circulation strong and do wonders for your bones and your posture. Definitely something worth considering.

3. Jogging through a forest


It doesn’t matter that you’re still sad because the summer ended; fall is here with its most amazing colors. And if you want to stay active and still work out, it would be an excellent idea to incorporate jogging through a nearby forest or a beautiful park and actually enjoy the orange and brown colors while you’re running. If you do this every morning before work, the morning fall breeze will definitely make you fresher for the upcoming workday. This is also the last season of the year for jogging outdoors, and you definitely don’t want to miss it. Put some nice music on your phone, dress in layers and start jogging through the orange, brown and green maze that fall prepared for us.

4. Basketball


If you’re a dude, changing from street basketball to indoor basketball might be exactly what you need. This sport has always been very popular and it’s also one of the best exercises and ways to stay active. This means that you can get with your teammates, book a spot at an indoor venue a couple of times a week, and there you go. The fact that you can’t play basketball outdoors anymore doesn’t mean that you should wait until spring for your next hoop-throwing sessions, does it? What’s also good about basketball is that it trains your glutes and your legs constantly, which means that you don’t have to spend so much time at the gym working on your legs. So, fewer leg days everyone!

5. CrossFit


The last option that we will recommend is CrossFit, which is an excellent sports activity that has gained a lot in popularity recently. The good thing is that you can always find venues where people do CrossFit, so signing up for one and joining the group might be the easiest way to find yourself a fall workout routine. This is not only good for your figure and your health – if there are a couple of pounds that you want to lose, but this is also your workout!

We all get lazy during fall, which is not really a good thing. So, in order to keep our mojo going and stay active even in the coldest days, now is the time to think about what sports activities we might want to do.
