Wedding Party Style Ideas

Friday, May 25, 2018

When planning for the big day, you envision a picture-perfect event. The centerpieces that are just the right size and color palette, the décor, the perfect band, and of course, that perfect wedding dress you’ve been dreaming about and longing for. It’s only natural then, that you want everyone to put their best look forward – you want your guests to honor the dress code so their appearance doesn’t clash with the overall theme of the wedding. However, certain people are bestowed with greater roles and responsibilities, and these are actually the people who absolutely must look their best. In order to help you help them make all the right style choices, we have come up with incredible ideas for each and every member of the wedding party, so everyone is perfectly in sync and stunning.

Maid of honor and bridesmaids

Even though the pastel trend is one of the most dominant ones this summer, the pastel bridesmaids’ dresses have been done for decades now, and in the wedding universe, it’s time for them to retire. Therefore, instead of the lavender and peachy hues, choose something more poignant yet supremely elegant for your most important gals – dark hues such as burgundy or dark purple will definitely make them stand out and ‘pop’, and they’re flattering on all skin tones. There is always the option of black dresses if you want to take a more formal route, and the best kinds are the ones that have two layers – for instance, black lace or tulle on top and white fabric underneath. In order to avoid uniformity and mix things up a bit, have your bridesmaids in the same color, but make sure each dress is made in a different cut, and always bear different body shapes in mind and pick out a design and cut that will do your bridesmaids’ silhouettes justice.

All eyes on her

Now that we have the almost most important girls covered, it’s time to focus on the bride. Now, there are many new trends that will dominate the bridal season of 2018 and the two we are completely head over heels for is the pastel pink and dusty pastel blue wedding dress trend. Pastel hues may be over for the bridesmaids, but they’re just arriving for the brides. However, if you’re a bride who doesn’t wish to wear a gown at all, you’ll definitely go crazy over this simple and effective wedding jumpsuit trend. They range from super-sexy and sheer to sharp, simple and elegant ones. Now, as the visibility of the shoes is much larger if you opt for a jumpsuit, you need a pair that will definitely elevate things, and one of the most perfect choices come from the bridal collection of Badgley Mischka shoes. These feature just the right amount of stones and embellishments to make the jumpsuit pop without pulling focus, creating a perfect wedding outfit.

The groom and his army of men

The best man was traditionally dressed in a different suit than the other groomsmen, but the rules have bent, and now, most grooms opt for a look that will exude a kind of uniformity and ‘brotherly solidarity’. However, we do think that the groom’s suit should be slightly different than that of his groomsmen, so whichever shade the groom goes for, they should go for a shade either darker or lighter. That way, there will still be a sense of synchronicity without questioning who the groom is. The most gorgeous suit color for the summer is definitely light grey, but if you want to go with navy, that’s always a classic. They can still have matching ties or go in a different direction and wear bow-ties in different colors.

The lovely one

Let’s not forget about the precious little flower girl, after all, she is the one making sure your ‘road’ is paved with flower petals. The range of amazing flower girl dresses is huge now – it’s not just puffy sleeves and lace. There are incredible cuts available now, from those with ruffled skirts to cute minimal ones with spaghetti sleeves so you can choose the kind that goes best with the theme of the wedding.

The responsible one

The ring bearer (if you decide you’re doing the rings) should be cute but in a way ‘serious’ looking – his role is an important one after all. If it’s a very young boy – anywhere from three to six years old, a cute pair of shorts in the same color as the groomsmen’s suits, a white shirt and cute suspenders will look adorable. If, however, the boy is older than that, then he should get to feel like a grown up and wear the exact same suit as the groomsmen (without the tie), only in a petite version.

Last, but certainly not least

The parents of both the bride and groom deserve to look spectacular and age-appropriate. The moms can have floor-length gowns if they are younger. However, if the moms are older than sixty, perhaps a suit consisting of a gorgeous pencil dress and a jacket in a stunning silver hue is a better option. They will still look incredible and stand out from the crowd, don’t worry. As for the fathers, let them be sticklers for tradition and wear the kind of suit they like – if it’s the double-breasted jacket and wide-leg pants they want, let them have it – whatever makes them feel most comfortable and stylish.
