Gym Fashion: Working out, looking good

Wednesday, April 11, 2018

Nobody expects you to look like a supermodel while at the gym, but you need to cut all those “It’s only the gym” excuses for wearing that old T-shirt and those almost torn apart sneakers that you train in. There’s been a great demand for extremely trendy gym clothes, and thanks to the rise of athleisure as a fashion trend, the choices are numerous. If you have the chance to wear something that’s both comfortable and fashionable, why not go for it? Take a look at this guide on how to work out and still look good, and we promise you’ll be the most talked about person at the gym.

Choose comfortable clothes

This goes without saying. Wearing comfortable clothes at the gym is definitely a must, but that doesn’t mean you need to take old clothes with you, as you can also get something new and still feel comfortable. The first thing you need to do is go and get yourself a T-shirt or leggings that you feel great in. Try them on – if you don’t feel like they are working the first time you try them on, move to the next item. The chances of them growing on you are not very high, and it’s of utmost importance that you feel comfortable in your new gym clothes all the time. Make sure that you get something that will flatter your figure – so no too baggy or too tight, but rather search for those clothes that emphasize the body parts you are proud of.

Let your body breathe

That same old T-shirt that you’ve been training in is not made for the purpose of training, so it’s definitely not made of any breathable materials. You surely don’t want sweat patches on your T-shirt, and that’s why choosing clothes that will wick the moisture away from your skin and still don’t leave any trace on your clothes is extremely important. If you take a look at any celebrity working out, you’ll notice the kind of materials they go for. If you don’t want to feel sweaty and sticky, but rather good-looking, this should be your next step.

Footwear is important

Choosing the perfect gym footwear can be a bit problematic. We definitely want trainers that are extremely comfortable and made for the purpose of training, but we still don’t want to choose just whatever – aesthetics are extremely important for our sneakers. So, how to choose the best gym shoes without compromising anything mentioned? There is a plethora of choices out there, but choosing bodybuilding shoes that are both durable and very fashionable might seem like the right thing to do. Make sure that you don’t try to save on gym shoes – this is perhaps the most important part of your gym attire.

Be colorful

Regardless of your gender, trying to stay trendy by choosing the most fashionable colors of today is very important. Not only will you make your training more fun and lively, you will appeal to others as well. If you really want to follow the latest trends, make sure to choose the millennial pink for one of the items of your gym attire – and this applies to both guys and girls. For the best gym fashion combinations, make sure to have black leggings or shorts that you will easily match to your top and your shoes. Tip: Apart from millennial pink, choose any bright pastel colors in order to make your appearance bright, but still very pleasing to the eye.

Accessorize

Last but not the least; try to enrich your gym outfit with a couple of accessories. We’re not talking about wearing expensive watches, earrings or bracelets to the gym – but rather get yourself a very nice water bottle, monochromatic towel or a good sport watch (you can find these at a very good price). Finally, choosing a high-quality and fashionable gym bag is definitely a cherry on top. This is the best way to add a bit more of your personality to your training routine.

To conclude, the gym is not a catwalk, but why shouldn’t we make it into one if we have the chance? Try to make the best out of your exercising routine – pump those muscles, get fit and still look incredible and very fashionable. If you can be trendy in the streets, why not in the gym too?
