I stopped Eating Rice for one week and this is what happened

Monday, January 22, 2018

With every new year comes promises, changes and of course resolutions that are active until the end of January. This year, I've made a few resolutions to maintain a healthy diet so that I can gain and maintain weight the healthy way of course. I decided to try something a bit different and not eat rice for 1 whole week and the results were shocking! Want to know what happened? Keep reading!

My Belly Got Flatter

Imagine coming from 98lbs to now 130lbs and now having a "belly" that is clearly only visible to myself. I love rice so much that I can eat it alone and I cook rice on Sundays to last for the week so I can have rice everyday (did you count how many times I said rice ?) Literally after a week of not eating rice I was back on that flat plasma screen belly!

I Had More Energy

If you are of a certain "persuasion" there is this thing called the "itis" that allows you to fall asleep or feel sleepy after a good meal. This always happens to me after eating a good ole Jamaican lunch with RICE and Peas of course. During my "no-rice" week experiment, I was wide eyed and bushy tailed after lunch and ready to end my day on a high note.

I Felt Less Hungry

Wait ...what? I love rice because I'm not big on meat so I always opt for more rice than meat so I could be full! During my little experiment I realized that by eliminating rice I was actually less hungry! I didn't even know this was possible but it is real y'all!

My Muscles got Stronger

This was definitely the most interesting thing I discovered. I don't lift weight nor do I exercise at all then I saw a little bicep coming through. By eliminating rice (carbs) it gave my body a chance to feed off the proteins and other nutrients which are deemed as building blocks for muscles.

It is important to note that when starting any health and fitness journey do extensive research and consult a physician (Doctor) if you can.

What is your main resolution this year? How do you plan to accomplish it?
