Rapper, Actor, Comedian, T.v Personality and now Screenwriter/Film Producer, Nick Cannon last Tuesday released his film "King of the Dancehall" which pays homage to the Jamaican sub-culture of Dancehall.

The multi-faceted Cannon released an exclusive preview of the movie on popular entertainment show ET and also appeared on "The View" with one of his co-stars in the movie Whoppi Goldberg. According to Cannon:

"This film is Edutainment-- when you see the film you'll see that you're learning about a sub-culture that is global. When you see Beyonce' and Rihanna doing these dance moves this is where it originated from-- and it came from Kingston. Just the power of Jamaica in it self to celebrate their culture"

The film deemed as "A modern Dirty Dancing" sees Nick's character known as "Tarzan" undergoing struggles and changes that leads him to Jamaica in hopes of starting a new chapter of his life and to support his mother played by Whoopi Goldberg who is ill. Tarzan experiences the Jamaican lifestyle where it's "Gangsta" by day and Dancehall by night where he meets a friendly Jamaican girl in "the dancehall' who teaches him about the dance and culture.

The movie also features Busta Rhymes, Louis Gossett Jr., Kreesha Turner and the lead female, new comer Kimberly Patterson.

The movie is available on YouTube Red, which is a paid subscription channel on YouTube that offers high quality movies. However, when The Haute Lifestyle team tried to use YouTube Red, it was realized that it is not available in Jamaica. We went on YouTube Red chat and spoke to a representative as it relates to using the platform, however our efforts were futile. We are curious to know, how and where you will be watching the movie?

Did Nick make the right choice by releasing the Movie on YouTube Red?
Also let us know what you thought about the movie (if you watched)
