Monday, July 24, 2017

The Hon. Dr. Chris Tufton (Minister of Health Jamaica) has decided to lead by example in the most literal way possible by challenging Jamaicans to adapt a healthier lifestyle. Wednesday last, the popular Worthington located on the Spanish Court Hotel's property was the venue of choice for the launch of Jamaica Moves Get Moving Corporate Challenge.

The launch was hosted by Media Personality Krystal Tomlinson and saw some of Jamaica's noted Corporate names, media and health enthusiasts.

The Get Moving Corporate Challenge is an initiative started by the Ministry of Health Jamaica to encourage more Jamaicans to incorporate at least 30 minutes of physical activity along with healthy eating into their day to day lives. To make things interesting, Minister Tufton partnered with Jamaica moves and started a challenge that involved some of Jamaica's most popular names in Entertainment, Media and so on.

Non communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and certain cancers account for 70% of total deaths in Jamaica. By launching a challenge like this, it is expected that more Jamaicans will want to adapt to a healthier lifestyle.
