Keep reading as we share 13 Life Lessons from 13 Reasons Why.

The Premise

Based on the 2007 novel by Jay Asher; After a teenage girl's perplexing suicide , a classmate (Clay Jensen) receives a series of tapes that unravel the mystery of her tragic choice.

---You can’t stop the future. You can’t rewind the past. The only way to learn the secret… is to press play.” — “Thirteen Reasons Why”

1. Suicide is not the answer: If there is one person in this world who says they have never experienced a challenge in their life, that person is a liar. No matter what the situation is, there are so many resources available to get help. Never , ever let it lead to suicide.

2.  People will talk: We cannot control what people say about us but we can control how it makes us feel. In Hannah's case, there are some things that were her fault while there were other things that were her classmates.

3. Fitting in is Hard: Whether you are an adult or teenager, trying to fit into a new environment can be really hard.

4. Someone always Cares: There are people who come into our lives for a reason and a season. There is always at least one person who truly cares and can make life less ... difficult.

5. Be true to yourself: In the series, we watch each character's true self unravel on each tape and they are pretty messed up because of their own issues. Instead of trying to cover your mess and be the victim, be true to yourself.

6.It's ok to ask for help: You can be the most self sufficient person in this world and think you can take care of everything. Relax superman! It's ok to ask for help every now and again.

7. Watch your words: Be careful what you say! Stop trolling on Social Media and stop being mean!!! You never, ever know what a person is going through and what you say might push them over the edge.

8. Sexual Assault is more popular than you think: The series touched on rape and various forms of abuse. It happens at school, work and in the world in general. If you have been assaulted in any way , seek help.

9. Be Kind: Simple right? This is one of the main things that sent Hannah over the edge. Everyone was un-kind to her and kept piling on rumors and bad things on her just because.

10. Don't move on: This is a bit unconventional ... whenever we as humans go through something challenging in life, onlookers always tell us to "move-on". In most cases , it's ok to just pause and really process what has happened and allow our selves to go through the motions.

11. Bullying is Real: Bullying has been taken to a whole new level because of Technology. Children in grades four to 12, college students and even adults are bullied at least once per month. Imagine being constantly teased on picked on because you do not meet the standards of others. Bullying in all cases should be reported.

12. Depression Hurts: It causes people to withdraw from daily activities and even loved ones. If you notice changes in an individual, talk to them and show them love and support. If it is at a point where you can't help , seek help on their behalf.

13. Don't believe everything you hear: This is one of our biggest down falls in this century! We believe everything we see and hear on social media and is always quick to jump on people! Don't be a sheep and follow everything, in most cases it's untrue.
