We are back for another exciting feature on "Behind the Seams" , our Lady Boss series continues with Lucy Briggs from Briggs and Briggs Marketing. Keep reading as we learn about the company and how this mother-daughter duo "made it work" in life and business.

H.P: Tell us about your Business in a nutshell ( include services )
L.B: Briggs & Briggs Marketing Services was born out of a strong desire to help small businesses and individuals to maximize their potential and goals. Our flagship platform, Brand Marketing Tips, is a resource on practical and low cost marketing and sales management information to help small businesses succeed globally. We offer consulting opportunities in a number of areas, including brand development, inbound marketing, social media marketing, and multimedia content development. We will soon be launching online courses, books, and webinars to provide coaching to a wider audience of entrepreneurs.



H.P: What's it like working with your Mom?
L.B: Working with my mom has been an incredible experience. I'm grateful for her guidance and partnership, and I love getting to learn from such an inspirational and resourceful woman each day. We're two sides of the same coin and we learn from each other each day. Our diverse knowledge sets and strengths are a boon to our clients as well. 

H.P:  Who is your ideal client?
L.B: Our ideal client has a strong sense of identity and vision for their brand and business objectives. Where they look to us for help is with cultivating their customer knowledge, creating impactful advertising campaigns, training their sales and support teams, and communicating superior value and experiences to their customers. We're very comfortable working with both start-ups and established businesses–the fundamentals never change!

H.P: What are some of the challenges you face as a Lady Boss?
L.B: Effectively communicating what differentiates us from our competitors is an ongoing effort. We've worked with many entrepreneurs who did not have formal educations or long careers before venturing out on their own, and these individuals are great sources of inspiration for us. What troubles us is the number of consultants, life coaches, etc. who list no credentials or verifiable career experiences, but claim to be experts in one thing or another. My mom and I both have MBAs and legitimate career experience from which to derive proven strategies for the clients who we serve.

H.P: What motivates you on a daily basis?
L.B: Our inspiration comes from our personal experience as a first generation immigrant family who achieved the American dream. We have a strongly held belief that everyone can succeed way beyond their current circumstances. Knowing that my mom and I are sharing our knowledge to help our clients grow their businesses in positive ways is incredibly motivating. I am also constantly inspired by our community of entrepreneurs and small business owners who share their stories with us on a daily basis. Continuing to support our community and clients is fulfilling in and of itself.

H.P: Why do Businesses/ Individuals need coaching?
L.B: We provide coaching and easy-to-implement approaches to empower individuals to realize their dreams. For those of us who run a small business, it can be especially hard to spend the time to look outward given our limited time and financial resources. We know that small business owners deliver their best work when they're focusing on their areas of expertise–not trying to juggle everything at once. Knowing how and when to ask for help is a virtue and a sign of strength.
