How Rihanna "Worked" her Caribbean Style in her latest Video

Monday, March 7, 2016
People all over the world , some gather round'

It's all about Caribbean and Reggae Culture and it's a good look for us (Caribbean ) People. If you know anything about the Caribbean ( apart from beautiful Beaches ) is that the culture is vibrant and a melting pot of cultures. Its no wonder celebrities like Rihanna have included elements of the Caribbean into their Music Video especially being an Island Girl herself.

The infamous "Rasta Marina" , has been around for soooo many years even before I was born and was not really a fad here. This piece of garment features a mix of Jamaican colors and Rasta colors of Red , Green and Gold ( Yellow ) and Black.  In the Video for "Work" , Rihanna was seen wearing the Maxi Dress version with a thigh high slit and what looks like a Bikini underneath. This of course leaves very little to the imagination which is fitting to the Dance-hall Culture where Sexuality and Suggestive Dance moves come together.

This same look was previously seen on the Runway for Designer Tommy Hilfiger which definitely ruffled some feather here in the Caribbean. Thing is , Fashion is dynamic and no trend is ever new.

In Video 2 a more intimate version with Drake, Rihanna was seen in a short Pink Skirt and a see through top which also left very little to the Imagination. In the Caribbean , If you are going to a party ( dance ) it's important to stand out as you definitely want to be featured in the Video light.

Sweat Drippin' , Hips Rockin' is how you turn things up Inna the Dancehall in Jamaica. "Work" is not "Tropical House" Music, it falls into the Reggae Dancehall Genre just in case you were wondering.
