Cheat Sheet for Transitioning to Colder Weather

Wednesday, November 4, 2015
We are at the helm of winter (that’s if you live in colder climates) If you are like me and live in the Caribbean … not so much!  Love dressing for the weather and decided to share some tips as a season change should not mean frumpy dressing. Here is your very own Cheat Sheet to Winter Dressing.

Be Basic:  In this case, being basic is not so bad! Basic also refers to simple things like long sleeve Tees, Tanks and Cotton Dresses. If you have those all year round pull them from wherever they are as they will be the base of your outfits.

Dress it up with a Scarf: Scarves are so simple and can easily transform an outfit and "bring it to life". I would recommend getting a solid color like Black and one with Prints whether Floral or Leopard. Add a scarf and you will see how quickly your outfit can go from drab to fab.

Grab Your Bootie: See what I did there“…lol. I just love boots for winter! They look so sophisticated and trendy.  The great thing is that there are so many Styles, Colors and Heels. If you can manage high heel boots then get it; If not you can also go lower with a flat boot. TIP: This season is all about Fringe, so my you might want to invest in at least one Fringe Boot since they are not going anywhere.

Coated In Style: You need a good Winter Coat! What is winter without a coat? You can take the high road and roll out some dough and invest in a brand name piece or … take the low road and get something within your budget.  Whatever you choose, make sure it suits the weather where you are.  You don’t want to get a coat that is stylish and looks good that won’t keep you warm and you don’t want to get one that is super expensive then you only get to wear it once because it’s too .. specific.

Go Longer: The point of “Winter Dressing” is to be warm while looking stylish right? This is the time where you will need to incorporate Long Sleeves, Leggings/
Tights, Long Skirts/Dresses and just anything that is below the knee. These will keep you all warm and toasty and! You will look stylish!

How do you incorporate style into winter?
