Back To School Week:Quick Breakfast Ideas

Wednesday, September 2, 2015
Happy September everyone! Congrats to all the Freshmen making their way on Campus and all the others looking forward to Graduation soon:-) I believe breakfast is one of those meals you should never miss no matter what! This is the time where you will need it since your brain will be going into over drive. Here are a few quick and easy breakfast ideas.

Eggs , Coffee/Tea and Toast: Eggs are a great source of proteins and you can eat them so many different ways. They are also relatively inexpensive so you easily plan them into your budget and have a healthy breakfast. Toasts are also easy since you can put them in the Toaster while you finish getting dressed and you need something hot like coffee or tea.

Oatmeal: Oatmeal is another great breakfast food that is so easy to make! You can purchase the old fashion type or you can get Instant where all you do is add water , sugar and your favorite toppings. These toppings can be fruits like bananas , blueberries or even strawberries. One similar thing we do to Oatmeal in Jamaica is Oats Porridge! It has a similar texture to Oatmeal , but we like to give it flavor by adding cinnamon, vanilla and milk.

Cereal: Not my favorite thing in the morning because it's too light but its a great quick and easy Breakfast option. All you need is a bowl with Milk and then add Cereal! Back in the day , I would add warm milk just so it lasted longer. You can add fruit to your Cereal if you wish.

Hearty Breakfast Sandwich: This is where you take your favorite "cold cuts" such as ham and turkey to make a sandwich with Lettuce , Tomato & even Onions. If you have left over meats that can be used to make a hearty breakfast Sandwich, you can use those as well.

Breakfast Smoothie: If you are about that Smoothie Life, instead of eating your favorite fruits , you can blend them together and make a really tasty Smoothie. Be sure to follow with a heavy lunch as Smoothies will only give you a few hours of energy.
