It is officially Day 5 of Blogust and we are trucking along :-) Today , I will be sharing tips on how you can start a Blog you can be proud of that can ultimately turn into a Career.
1. Pick a Name that makes sense : What's in a name? Whole heap a things! The name you choose should tell your readers what the Blog is about just by the name. I chose Haute People because "Haute" is french and means high quality and I've always had a love for the French Culture and Language. People is simply because I wanted my readers to feel like they are a part of the Blog .. which they are :-)
2 . Choose Your Platform : This is where your Blog will live ( until your purchase a Domain which we will get into later ) Think of a Platform as where you would want to live in real life. Do you want an Apartment , Town House or an Actual House? Examples of Platforms are Blogger , Drupal , Tumblr , Wordpress etc.
3. What will it be about ? This is your Niche! Let's go back to Biology where you had various groups of things that had similar functions that were in the same place. If you are into Fashion then that would be your Niche... maybe you like Music & Artistes so Entertainment would be your Niche.
4. Content is King : Guys, you cannot start a Blog with nothing . It makes absolutely no sense .. you need to research your posts , write them and Publish them. I would say , starting out ensure you have at least 10 posts to test the waters then you continue from there.
5. Be Persistent : Blogs have become so popular today and many people have been able to make a great living from them! I can tell you that it's no walk in the Park and definitely not a get rich quick scheme. There will be days when you have thousands of views and days when it's only 100. No matter what , if you are serious , you have to stick with it until you get the results you want.
