Strobing 101

Wednesday, August 26, 2015
Haute People Beauty Week Day 3... here we go! As you can tell by the topic today it is all about Strobing . Thanks to celebrities like the Kardashians and popular Make Up Artistes this trend has taken off on full speed.

Strobing involves using Make-up products that are two (2) shades darker and two (2 ) shades lighter to make features recede or be the center of focus. As you may or may not know Strobing has to do with playing with light to bring attention to those features that light hits naturally. I know you are probably thinking "this sounds like Contouring" but that requires a lot more time and skill.

The Products used in strobing are Illuminating Products such as Highlighters. This is a good time to dig out those Iluminators and Highlighters you had in storage and didn't know what to do with. Try to focus on areas where light would hit naturally like the cheeks , temples , brow-bones , down the nose and also the Chin. When you apply these to the skin they will make your complexion appear bright and radiant . My trick is to add a soft shimmery gold highlighter to areas of my face that sweats! I know it sounds weird but think about it .. instead of your face looking shiny , it has a natural "glow".

Strobing requires less products and your skin won't feel like you packed on tons of Products and will be able to breathe more. If you are not keen on Strobing , Brands like Colorpop have made things easier by creating Strobe Kits that have all the Products you need in one neatly packaged palette.

Have you heard about Strobing? Have you tried it?
