A new Miss Water House Crowned!

The Miss Waterhouse Pageant initiative was brought about by Ms. Stephanie Hall, a resident of the community. The pageant was created to give young ladies the opportunity to express themselves, to build self confidence, showcase their talents and inspire others to be apart of the journey. 

Executive producer, Mr. Stephen Josephs assisted by Ms. Hall coordinated a night to remember throughout the ages.

Sunday evening, the Water House community came alive for the crowning of Miss Waterhouse 2015. Patrons from various communities gathered at the Balmagie Primary School Playfield for the official event. Eleven ladies, all from the Water House community, competed for the title. Their family and friends all gathered in excitement to hear the night’s verdict.

The main sponsor for the event was Sanmerna Paper Products Limited, manufactures of Sophie and Classie Tissue. Associate sponsors were Miss United Nations Pageant, Reach One Child Foundation, and Raynor Allen. 
Judges for the evening were:
·         Ecuador Ambassador to Jamaica, Her Excellency Clelia Barreto de Hunter
·         Former Jamaican Ambassador to Japan, Her Excellency Claudia Barnes
·         Toast Master, Mrs. Viris Clarke
·         Senior Manager at Sanmerna Paper Products Limited, Ms. Shaneen McLeod
·         Former Saints International model, Mrs. April Ambersley-Josephs

Distinguished guests at the event included CEO of Sanmerna Paper Products Limited Mr. Robert White and Technical Director Mr. Mark White, Member of Parliament The Honorable Minister Anthony Hylton, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Derrick Knight,  Attorney at Law Mr. Christopher Townsend, just to name a few. 

Entertainment for the night included Cherine Anderson who rocked the stage with her electrifying performance and Jasmine Taylor accompanied by Quilt who performed a breathtaking African piece. 

Curtains came down around midnight when Ms. Shante Gapor, a first year student of the University of the West Indies, was crowned Miss Waterhouse 2015. 1st and 2nd runner up were Ms. Sasha Bernard and Ms. Safia James.
