5 Money Saving Hacks for the Modern Woman

Saturday, June 20, 2015
Hi Guys! Things are tight almost everywhere in the world (thanks to our declining economy). As women, we always strive to look good no matter the situation and in order to do so we have to have money. Today, I will be giving you a few tips on how to save a few extra bucks to give yourself a little treat every now and again.

Make it if you Can: As a woman who goes to a lot of Events, I would need a few hundred outfits & accessories each month. I don’t know about you but I don’t have it like that! What I like to do is make outfits and accessories. Fabric is waaay cheaper than buying something already made and you will definitely stand out in your own creation. That extra money could be used to help with a Bill or treat yourself to something else. Check out this Clutch I made for a Fashion Event!

Rewards/Cashback Programs: These programs are a life saver, it’s like you are paid to shop then get money back in return. One program I really like is Giving Assistant which is a FREE Digital loyalty program with over 1,100 retailers that gives an average of 5% cash back after each online purchase. 2 of my favourite stores in this program are Forever21 and Amazon; Yes!

They do have big name stores we are all familiar with so that is one of the many things I like about the Program. Signing up is super easy and takes about 10 secs! You can sign up with a current E-mail or Facebook; there is even an option to give some of your Cash back to your favourite charity. Another great thing about Giving Assistant is that the Coupon Codes will always work unlike most sites that have cumbersome codes and the pay-out is $1 which is sent days directly after your purchase! No longer will you have to sit for Days waiting on a check in the mail. To sign up, Visit the Giving Assistant Website and “JOIN NOW”

Selling Items Online: We all have those items in our closets we never wear but can’t seem to get rid of  (admit it) There is FREE Cash hanging in your Closet, literally! Why not go online and find stores that you can sell these items to? Sure you might not get it for the initial price but such is life; the minute after you purchased it, the value went down. You can make an extra 100 or even 1,000 just by selling your own items Online.

Get Your Hair Done for Free: What girl doesn’t like to get her hair done period and for FREE! That’s the icing on the Cake! This might sound too good to be true or a hair-brain scheme (pun intended) but it’s for real. There are many Cosmetology Training Programs where girls are looking for client’s hair to do to get a grade, find one of those in your area and you are good to go. I like to keep things simple by sticking to a simple Blow-Up rather than a Balayage just because I’m not sure of the skill level of the person.

D-I-Y Spa Day: Making your own Beauty Treatments just got easier thanks to Pinterest & YouTube:-) Facemasks, Body Scrubs and Body Butters are no longer limited to pricey Spas. Make your own Products from items you already have at home like Coffee, Honey and Even Oats! If you do it right, you can even bake a cake with the left-overs; now that’s being resourceful.

What are some creative ways you save money?

  1. Great money saving tips! When we had our family photos done back in February we had a certain color theme that we wanted so I ended up begging and borrowing stuff from friends to complete the look. Sometimes the best place to head to is your best friends closet!

  18. A DIY spa day from YouTube videos is a great idea. I'm a novice at wearing/applying make-up, but my preteen daughter is all about it. We have been watching videos on how to apply certain kinds and it's been really helpful for both of us!
