How to be a Glamorous Host

Friday, May 8, 2015
It is the Season of Weddings , Baby Showers and even House Warming Events. "Events" Season is officially here! Every Event whether good or bad must have a host to get things going and just be the overall moderator. Today , I will be taking things a step further to tell you how you can be a Glamorous Host.

You Need A Great Outfit : Well , it depends on your definition of great. We are all different and while some of us like to stand out ; some of us like to blend in. In terms of the Outfit , get something that says "I'm the Host/ess " , maybe somethings that's a solid color like Black , Red or White.

Invite People: Of course you can't have an Event of any sort without actual people :-| There are various online sites like E-vite that allows you to invite your guests electronically or you can also opt for the old fashioned way of delivering them by mail. I like to make my Invites since I have a little rule "Why buy what I can make" . See below for this very simple Invitation Card I made from Card Stock and Felt. Super easy to make.

Be Courteous: Have you ever been to an event and the Host/ess seem to be totally in love with themselves? Being a courteous Host means you greet all your guests , make meaningful conversations and thanking them for coming. Show them where the restroom is and so on.

Have a Great Menu: As the Host/ess you have to take into consideration that in these times the Traditional 'Fish" or "Chicken" simply will not work. Have a Vegetarian Option and even a Gluten Free Option. It will be great to ask the guests before hand if they have any special dietary requirements.

Send Thank You Cards: I know this might be really old fashioned, but it's great to send Thank you Cards after an Event. If you can write them by hand even better! Guests will appreciate this even more and will be supportive of your future Events.

What Event/s are you excited for this season?

  19. A menu is important! I also like to do some kind of buffet or a DIY bar so guests can mingle and serve themselves!
