$12 Make Up Challenge + Review

Wednesday, May 20, 2015
Hi Guys! I'm sure most of you have heard about the $20 Make-up challenge on YouTube. If you haven't it's where you purchase $20 worth of Make-Up. The amount of Products you purchase can be less than $20 at check-out but never more than $20.

I challenged myself to see what I can find here in Jamaica for $1,200 which would be around $9.58USD. What a challenge it was! A good foundation in Jamaica is well over $18usd. Below are the Products I found plus a quick review.

L.A Colors Liquid Make-Up ( Cappuccino ) $JMD 250  | USD$4.34

I have never used this Foundation before nor have I heard about it. Trying it for the first time was rather interesting. The first time I applied it , I had to wash my face clean then re-apply. The size is 1.1 fl oz which is a little extra compared to other Liquid Make-up which is 1.0 fl oz. The Formula is quite interesting .. it's definitely one of those make-up you can feel on your face. It goes on as liquid but dries as matte. A little goes a long way with this product. If you have oily skin .. it's not for you. After about 5 minutes of application my face was sooo oily then I had to dab with Powder. I would recommend this Product for Normal Skin and for short term wear. It was  a color match to my skin . 3/10

L.A Colors Liquid Make-Up ( Taupe ) $JMD 250 | USD$2.6

This was a lot similiar to the Cappuccino but a little better. It wasn't as oily but was used as a highlighter rather than a Foundation. It did dry really quickly and gave a nice glow.  7/10

Maiasa Individual Lashes$JMD 280 | USD$2.43

This was actually my first time trying Lashes and I decided I would buy something cheap instead of taking that BIG leap and purchase something I might not like. This took ALOT of time to apply! The glue that came with the product did not get that tacky/gummy feel , so I had to hold it for a good minute for it to work. I like how natural they looked and how seamlessly they blended with my own Lashes. 9/10

L.A Girl Glazed Lip Paint (Tango ) $JMD 300 | USD$

Let me just preface by saying , I'm all for Packaging of a Product; this look sold me as it was Bright and Bold and Perfect for Summer! It is a bright Coral which glided on like butta! It reminds me of one of those lip melts that's all the Rave right now. It's like a Lipstick and gloss all in one. It's moisturizing and also minty! 10/10

Amuse Chapbalm $JMD 120 | USD$1.043

This is the last thing I purchased just because it's  Summer and my Lips are dry. This is not your regular Lip Balm as it goes on really oily like a lip gloss. It is an O.k Product ... nothing special.

Sooo ... I would like to tag a few Bloggers both Jamaican and U.S based to see what they can find for USD$12 | JMD$ 1,200
