I received this Article from Chictopia and thought I would share it . I know Blogging is still relatively new in Jamaica as most people don't truly understand how to 'Blog" and the opportunities that can come from it.

What do Bloggers Actually Do?
Hi, Chictopians!
It's been a while! I can't believe it's April, our eight year anniversary here at Chictopia! Over the past 8 years, we've grown from a social networking website where individuals can come and share their personal style posts, to a network for media star influencers that collaborate with brands throughChictopia Connect.

8 years ago, blogging was just a hobby that no one took seriously. Today blogging is a career that can lead to many amazing opportunities and experiences. Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to their fans, it's been so rewarding to see so many of our Chictopia babies reach new highs in their careers. As we evolve as a community, we look forward to seeing more cool projects done by each and every one of you.
Question: What do bloggers actually do?
Answer: Make a career out of working on creative projects.

We took a closer look at the different types of bloggers and found the following trends amongst different types of bloggers and what they do to make a living.
Celebrity Appearance and Hosting
Art in Our Blood, a native Californian and a student at Parsons, was invited by New York brand Alice + Olivia to host the third year anniversary of their San Francisco store.
Tyler Oakley, a former Chictopia's former team members, and now a star Youtuber, was invited to interviewed Michelle Obama!
Marzia attended New York Fashion Week and sat front row for Chictopia x Sperry New York Fashion Week Campaign.
Social Media and Creative Consulting
Blair Eadie, originally a San Franciscan, is now the Creative Director for Tory Burch in New York.
Zanita, one of Chictopia's early Style Icons, now hosts classes for aspiring bloggers.
Content Creation and Distribution
With the number of social media channels brands have to maintain, everyone is looking for quality content creators. This spring, 10 Chictopians's styling photos got featured on Victoria's Secret PINK, social media channels, and banners on Chictopia. Many brands have started their own Chictopia content hubs to feature bloggers. Smashbox Cosmetics and JCPenney have featured some of our favorites like Xander Vintage and MicahMichelle Phan and Zoella, who are amongst the world's most popular fashion and beauty bloggers, are all doing amazing things with their careers.
We hope you find this email useful, and please do let us know what features, blog posts, and email topics you'd like to see from us. Our ears are open!
