Fan Week Day 3: How to Work From Home

Wednesday, March 25, 2015
Fan Ques: Greetings Rane! ummm weird question , I've been wanting to work from home but what kind of Jobs are available for us Jamaicans?

The greatest thing about working from home is the sense of Independence and Freedom it provides. Please don't believe its all Glitz and Glamour as you still have to actually work and put your self on a schedule for best Results. This is actually a common question that I would say is "IN Progress" as the answer changes from time to time. Below are a few options to consider for Jamaicans working from home.

ODesk: This is a Website that offers Online Jobs in a number of areas for people all over the world. Luckily Jamaica is one of the countries in this group. Pay can range from USD$5 - $250 and sometimes even more. You will have to sign up to be a member which is free , enter relevant info , then choose the job that applies to you.

Craigslist: Yes! That website that offers all sort of shady jobs , services and items. The thing about Craigslist is that to find the credible jobs you have to look really hard. I was able to land a writing gig close to two years ago and that is one source of Income for me.

Freelancer.com: As the name suggests , this site offers a number of Freelancer Jobs. You can pick 1 job or you can pick 100 Jobs. The great thing about freelancing is that you are not bound by a Contract and can take on as many Projects as you wish.

YouTube, Blogging, Sponsorship: I've decided to group these 3 because they go hand in hand. If you are great at providing content on topics YOU HAVE VALUABLE knowledge on, then you can start a Blog or YouTube Channel .These can be monetized in a number of ways by either Google or other advertising sites. There are even some companies who will pay you to talk about their Products.

Humanatic: I recently discovered this service where you basically review Phone Calls from companies. Each correctly rated call scores you a few Bucks , however incorrectly rated calls are deducted. This is also great if you are looking to pay a few minor Bills.

I hope the question was answered and it was found helpful. If there is any other helpful information you can give , please share in the comments.
