Guys Take on : Intro Series

Monday, February 2, 2015
The Guys have been speaking and I'm listening! Haute People is proud to present the first Series for Men co-written with a man . Today

Men are different from us women when it comes to just about everything. They have an interesting way of doing everyday things ( on their own time ) of course! Today , we'll be looking at Guys take on Grocery Shopping.

FROM A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE

Grocery Shopping is cool ... I get to buy the stuff that I want , I have no problem with it at all. Once a female decides to come along that's where the real problem starts. Don't get me wrong , I have no problem spending the money .. but why do women like to read all the ingredients on every product and compare prices? When I go into the Supermarket , I walk with a list , I know what I want and I take it off the shelf and put it in my Cart/Trolley then make my way to the Cashier. I don't mind it at all .. as long as it's by myself. I will even lie and say I'm playing Sports or sumn .. just so she won't go grocery shopping with me.
.
HOW GUYS GROCERY SHOP

Personally , I like to have a list whether paper or I use my Phone. This helps me to know exactly what I want and how much I have to spend. I like to get the essential things: Food Stuff, Cleaning Products and of course Beer. As it relates to quality over quantity , I would say it's 50/50. I will spend a extra dollar on a Brand I know and trust for example, Grace ( here in Jamaica ) for Corn-beef or whatever because that taste different by Brand but If It's something like Mixed Vegetable .. any brand will do ( often the cheapest one ).

TO TIP OR NOT TO TIP

It depends on the amount of Grocery I buy and how helpful the person is packing the Bags. You have some of them who as they see that you buy a lot of things , them immediately think "Big Boss/ Money Man"  and rush you same time. I remember at some point Mega Mart had a sign that say tipping is completely up to the Shoppers and not mandatory. I don't like the begging ting , but If the yute do a good job .. I will give him a little tip.

Guys & Girls ... what is your take on this Topic

  1. LOL! if I don't give my husband very detailed and specific instructions about anything, it doesn't get done.

  2. Sounds just like my husband. I hate sending him grocery shopping because he just picks up any thing while I do have to read and price match.

  3. I want to save money, that's why! I like to have a list, coupons, and price match. There are a few things I will get no matter the cost though. :)

  17. I'm surprised that this isn't too different from how anyone else shops. I'm more of a browser but I do bring a list with me.

  18. Well this girl loves grocery shopping more than clothes shopping (I am skinny little thing). I agree that Grace tastes better in many products so kudps to the author.

  21. It sounds like me less the tipping. Some establishments ban tipping on personnel.

  22. Oh, I have my favorite brands but if something new catches my eye, I will read what it is and might give it a try. Not sure with the tipping though. I only tip when the bagger carries the bags to the vehicle.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I actually don't spend a lot of time shopping. I do my list in advance and buy all that I want and need in just one day. I hate walking around the whole day just to buy one pair of sneakers or something. Haha!

  29. My husband loves going grocery shopping with me. I'm a little OCD when it comes to grocery shopping , I break everything down by the isle and area of the store so it's quick easy and painful. Other items is where he hates going because it takes me forever to choose.

  42. That's cute! Well girls tend to search, compare and check the details. That is what we enjoy doing and the feeling of satisfaction of our shopping.
