Design your Life

Thursday, February 5, 2015
Life can be chaotic, stressful, disappointing and all the other negatives you can think of that life throws at us. However, we can minimize these negatives if we spend some time to design our lives. For this series of articles I would like to share with you ways to design your life.

It’s important when designing your life that you look at the bigger picture. Where do you see yourself in the future? Do you want to go to school to prepare for a career? Do you see yourself getting married and having children?

A lot of the hassle can be eliminated from life if we just take some time to vision our future self. Then make the necessary plans to execute adequately.  Even though we might make plans, life doesn't always serve our meals on golden plates, sometimes we have to make due with eating from a calabash. However, if we make plans chances are we will get close to how we see our future self, or might even get the perfect outcome(if there is such a thing).

The saying is true that if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail. This doesn't apply to school exams only; it encompasses all aspects of our lives.

After you have made these major decisions you can focus now  on other finer details. For example, if you get married how will you combine your possessions? You can look forward to this in future articles.
Remember to plan and follow through, your future self will be happy you did.

  1. I agree on some level, but you can't always predict what's going to happen and you can't always prepare.

  2. Planning is important. If we don't decide how where we're going, who knows where we'll end up? I believe in being intentional.

  10. It's best to prepare when you can, I agree. If you don't, you can't expect optimum results. Now if I could practice what I preach...

  13. I think planning is very important, but unfortunately life throws many curve balls that are often hard to be ready for. It is definitely good to have a plan for the "normal" life events, though.
