Bad Blogging Habits

Friday, February 6, 2015
Every now and again I like to give my ( honest ) two Cents on the Blogging  Community. We are all different people and we have a different way of presenting our Posts to the World.

1. Not Returning a Favor: Let's say you comment on a person's post .. you'd expect them to respond right? No! Sometimes they don't at all. I must say I'm guilty of this: I'm seeing where comments are coming in to this Blog and others I manage but I can't seem to comment back :-( #needtofindtime

2. Stealing Badges: Badges are very Popular on Blogging sites; it makes you seem more credible as  Blogger and that you are a part of something. Now Imagine you know of a Blogger in a Circle , you comment on their Blog , you get a Badge from whatever site and then bam! They have it too. It was't there before and seemed to have appeared right after you got yours. Badges are Free ... but they have no idea why you have them or how it will be beneficial to them.

3. Over publicizing Everything: We live in a Digital Age.. but! There are some Bloggers who think they need to share all aspects of their lives. Instagram " This is a Picture of my toe-nail I just clipped " , Twitter #toenailclipping , Facebook : Please click the link to see clippings of my Toenail. Not everything is mean to be shared.

4. The Absentee: This Blogger will post something really amazing .. then not post again .. for 2 years !! There you are subscribed waiting for more from this person.. then nothing!

5. The Blogger Turned YouTuber: YouTube is a great place to reach new audiences. This Blogger goes over to YouTube .. the every Blog Post becomes a link to a YouTube Video. We miss your writing, Please come back soon ;-(

6. Extremely Short Posts: These Post involve 3 sentences (or less ) then a dozen pictures without any form of explanation.

  1. I agree - I don't want to sit and watch a bunch of youtube videos, I would rather read sometimes.

  2. I admit I have trouble finding time to return the favor. Badges though? I don't know why someone would steal them?

  3. Those are great tips. I absolutely dislike pop up videos. I usually shut down the page

  4. I agree too that I'd rather read someone's posts than always click on a video.

  5. "Please click the link to see my toenail clippings." - I would so never click that link, lol. I don't love people who over share either.

  7. Great post. I never thought about that YouTube idea. I tend to wonder if I should do more YouTube and less posts but maybe in moderation. Thanks for your thoughts.

  8. I never have time to reply to comments, but I read every one. It is something that just gets away from me.

  10. I think a written post is always better. Videos are good now and then. I also like to see new posts now and then.

  13. Some of these are so true and what a shame. Over sharing is the baddest one to me. Knowing everything a bloggers is doing isnt always necessary.
