Style Profile: Yendi Phillips

Tuesday, August 5, 2014
Yendi Phillips as the world now knows her has come a long way in the past five years in both her personal and professional life. In the few years that Jamaica and the world has known Yendi she has held titles as both Miss Jamaica World (2007) and Miss Jamaica Universe (2010), had a somewhat controversial relationship and pregnancy and reported break-up  with Daniel “Chino” McGregor and at the same time won our hearts as  the co-host of popular Jamaican  morning show "Smile Jamaica".

Although Yendi’s career as a Media Personality and a Jamaican icon has had a lot of ups and downs her Style and Wardrobe choices while sometimes questionable have succeeded in making an impact so much which is why she is the subject of this weeks style profile.

Queen Yendi

Since Ms Phillips started her rise to fame as Ms. Jamaica World and Ms Jamaica Universe lets look at some of her most impactful looks  from her Pageant days.

Madame Television

Soon after conquering the pageant scene Yendi returned home and started hosting duty for both Smile Jamaica and Digicel Rising Stars.

Yendi’s TV Wardrobe includes lots of pieces from high end retail outlet KERRY manwomanhome she seems to favor patterns, neutrals and vibrant colors.

Model Behavior

In addition to holding both Ms. Jamaica World and Ms Jamaica Universe titles Yendi is a bonafide model having been signed by Pulse Model Management Jamaica. Yendi has appeared in ads for Toyota and Pepsi among others and graced the covers of Magazines such as Buzz, Collage and YouthLink

Yendi in Real Life

Although Yendi is known to the world as a pageant queen and TV host Yendi’s style is transcendent  and is shown in the sweet kindhearted person that she is day to day.

Yendi is definitely not afraid to take a risk or bare it all as we see in her portrayals both as an expectant mother and Digicel’s Bacchanal Brand Ambassador. Showing both her simple and extravagant aesthetic

Yendi’s day to day style has transformed into practical, casual and comfortable. We hope style in this case passes effortlessly from mother to daughter.

Haute Tip- Style transcends clothing......sometimes a smile is your best accessory. Just take it from Yendi she rocks it well!
