Class is in Session, Pay Attention!
Kingston, Jamaica: Fresh from the success of its previous staging in August, Pay Attention – Kingston’s premier Hip Hop event – returns on Saturday, October 5, inside Club Indulge at South Beach CafĂ©. Local Hip Hop artistes, The Sickest Drama (TSD), BPM and Slo Mo will be hitting the stage as well as up-and-coming Reggae-Soul crooner, Mario Evon. As usual, music will be provided by Resident DJ, Inztinkz, and Fatalic.

Pay Attention’s Public Relations Manager, Raquel Allen, says, “Our last event was our best yet, and we are raising the stakes with this next one. It has been a while since we've had a singer on the show, and this will also be the first time we have an act from outside of the Corporate Area or St. Catherine.”
Pay Attention’s patrons will be familiar with The Sickest Drama, who has been the host and face of the event since March. Also, a longstanding member of the local Hip Hop community, he will be performing his own music, including his recent single, ‘A Journey Through Life’, among others from his upcoming EP, ‘Inferno’.
Slo Mo, who was featured on Toots and the Maytals’ 2009 re-release of ‘54-46’, will also be performing music from his recently released mix tape, ‘Scotch Bonnet’.
BPM – a 3-member group comprising S.O.S. Dynamikz, Lady Livi and Bruce – is one of the leading Hip Hop groups in the parish of Manchester. They are known for their online content including music videos and ‘ciphers’, and will be making their first stage appearance in Kingston inside Club Indulge.

Reggae-Soul artiste, Mario Evon, will also be bringing his unique flavour to Pay Attention. He has graced the stages of Red Bones, the Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival and even the Apollo Theater. Described as ‘Babyface meets Bob Marley with a touch of Junior Gong’, he will be singing songs, including those from his upcoming debut album.

“We present unique line-ups each time,” says Allen. “We always have acts you may never have seen, but you will definitely keep hearing about as they rise. This October show is going to be phenomenal!”
Gates open at 9 p.m. and showtime will begin at 10:30 p.m. Admission at the gate will be $600, while presold tickets are being sold for $500 at Nanook Enterprises, 20 Burlington Avenue, and Gambling House Recording Studio, 21 Haining Road. Ladies are 2-for-1 until showtime.
