The 55th Grammys : Best New Artiste

Sunday, February 10, 2013
Hi Guys , I'm here with another Sunday post . As most of you may or may not know it's officially "Award Season".That means almost every week or every other week we get to see celebrities dressed in their favorite designers , then they all sit in a huge auditorium or somewhere that looks totally amazing .. then they get to win awards for who is the "best" in various categories . Sounds cool right?

According to Beyonce "Girls Run the world" , but this year it is all about the guys !  ( and just two girls). The nominees for Best New Artiste are : The Alabama Shakes , Hunter Hayes , Fun, The Lumineers and Frank Ocean . These guys are up for the coveted " Golden Gramophone". It is always sooo hard to predict Best New Artiste because it's literally anybody's game :-( In the fore front is Frank Ocean who is also up for 4 other categories! Record Of The Year , Album Of The Year , Best Urban Contemporary Album and Short Form Music Video.

The diverse group ranges from Pop to Hard Rock to Folk to R&B and even Country. It is really hard to pick as i said before. I have to admit i really like the selections for this category this year. In recent years , it's like the same sounding music ... by different people. My pick is between country cutie Hunter Hayes and Frank Ocean. Wanted is such a cute romantic song and there is not a very popular mainstream male country singer now .. and he's young so he definitely appeals to a younger demographic.

Frank Ocean seems to be everybody's pick and i guess I'm gonna have to go with him based on Probability :-) The thing about "New Artistes" is that , they are not that "new" . Frank has been around for a good five years and i guess he got his break because of his lyrical skills . He kinda reminds me of Common who is a Poet and also a Singer . He has a way with words without it being too much.  Check out his popular song " Thinking About You" below.

Who do you think will win Best New Artiste at the 55th Grammys?
